Does anyone know how to reach Kevin that lives in Burleson and replaces guides?

Kevin told me the other day that he’s not really doing repairs anymore.

Stinks on Kevin, quality guy.

Not sure what part of town you are in, but have used Doug / Texas Toad Sticker custom rods in Garland for the past year and been very pleased with turnaround, quality, and pricing. 214-793-6867

Just do it yourself. Thread and superglue. Doesn't look professional but works fine.

Joey in Irving does good work. Pm me and I'll send his number if wanted.

There is a guy in The Colony that did some for me and those turned out good also. I didn't save his number. Anyone know that guy?

I second Joey in Irving. Sniperrods. Recently repaired a Kistler and St Croix for me and am satisfied. Even touched up a couple of spots where the original epoxy on some guides was starting to come off. Quick turn around and affordable.

ill second this...but will say your first few attempts might be ugly. if you take the 10 minutes while it dries and keep the rod rotating it helps and will make it look good. all you really need is a bobbin, thread and epoxy. that and some time is really all you need

Re: Rod Guide Repair - 04/23/21 01:48 PM

I bought the gear to do it myself. Been a good investment. If you want your threads to be pristine, maybe pay someone else. I have gotten pretty good at it and its hard to find the guides I have repaired in the past.

on Average I fix 5 rods a year. and when one guide goes on a rod and u still use it others will follow. I usually wait and do it once a year, unless I really need that rod.
