Never seen anyone go back and forth to dig a hole. Leave it up to a good ole East Texas boy! Lol!
got invited several years ago to a really nice duck club in the marsh near the Louisiana coast...guides would take us to the blind in alumium boats with tiller steer 40 hp. Merc...they would run across mud flats wide open and the water would be 1-2 ft deep....water around the duck blind would also be 1-2 ft deep and when we got ready to leave, the guide would go back and forth digging/blowing out a hole in that soupy mud with the motor til he got a long enough hole to where he could get the boat up on plane...they had a plastic hose from the motors pee hole run up the side of the boat so the guy running the motor could see if the engine was pumping water....it seemed to me that engine pumped as much black mud/water mixture as it did clean water and i was amazed they didn't overheat or burn up the engines....
