When a jig won’t penetrate the cover or gets too hung up, time after time, I’ll throw a pegged t-rigged creature bait.

I'll flip a jig on isolated timber or something that I don't think it will get hung up in. If im fishing thick buckbrush then always a pegged beaver or craw. Now if its a tournament I'll almost always flip a jig after filling a limit to try and get one more big bite.

Good advice. Sometimes they just will not bite a jig but they will a creature bait. I have no idea why that is. If you aren't getting hung up on the jig and they are biting it, then I would surely stick with it because usually you will get a bigger fish. Usually, but not always.

if you're in a team situation 1 flips a jig and the other a plastic. You can key in pretty quick on what they prefer that way. I personally have more confidence and prefer to fish a jig, also feel like i catch better quality fish on it so i always make my buddy throw the plastic

I tend to flip a jig more around wood and docks and a beaver in vegetation
