Help with digital scale? - 03/25/21 02:45 PM
Hey, all I am looking for a good digital scale. I have a budget of 100 dollars. What would y’all recommend and can I get good one at that price point?

i tried several including one fairly expensive but the best for me I've found is the Rapala Touch Screen - much easier to get and store weights for culling - Runs about $50 give or take

Brecknell makes some really accurate ones and I love the mouth gripper vs through the gills. I don't think they store weights though. If you want something that does that, the Rapala one mentioned above is awesome as is the Cull-M-Right system. All of these are under $100;

Yeah I definately want one with a clip. I don't mind spending money as long as the thing works.

I've owned two Brecknell's and really liked them until they got wet...and I don't mean drop them in water...I'm talking rain.
As far as the clips...you can buy them separately and add them to most scales.

The Rapala one has a conservation clip instead of a hook.

I have a Brecknell and a Rapala and both of them have the clips on them.
They both work great!
Scales have come a long way since the old Zebco De-Liar!

I figured if Jacob Wheeler and several other pro's were using the Rapala for culling when a $100K was on the line over ounces it was close enough for me.

I have this one and it sucks! It reads weights fine and I have a hand held of another style to verify, but the piece of junk won’t ever stay on. I’ll have to jack with it for a minute or two, before I can actually keep it turned on.

How in the world can anyone make a decision in which scale to buy? If you read the reviews for any scale, there is always good reviews and bad reviews. I bought a Rapala 50 lb. digital scale. It was really accurate when I first bought it. Now, I cannot get it to read pounds and ounces. It will only read in kilograms. I got frustrated with it, handed it to my Wife and she couldn't get it to change either.

We did read the manual. It didn't work as it instructed.

When I first bought mine, it was stuck in kilos. Kept jacking with it, per the manuals instructions and finally it worked after multiple attempts. I know I won’t buy the same scale again when it breaks.

Ratz got mad and threw one in the lake like that. It floated, I hope someone that knew how to change it back to pounds found it.

Look like the old x-tools scale, I know some hated when they quit making that one but others had issues with them, I guess they had some quality control issues. I looked at the brecknells and was shocked they didn't cost more considering those are the ones MLF uses.

I have the Rapala Touch Screen 15lb one. Weighing a gallon jug of water its within .10 ounces. Pretty accurate to me for a $50 scale.
