O.H. Ivie Report

Thinking about getting away from the crowds around DFW and heading to O.H. Ivie.

Anyone have a recent fishing report?

Huge fish kill earlier in the month. TPWD reporting nearly 100% kill.

Hit with a double whammy. Both golden allergy and green slime. Nothing to see so move along.

They all are in Athens now . No fish left in the lake maybe a bank racer are two could be had in a 8 hour day of fishing.

MLF has moved the red crest to Ivie this weekend

I heard Byron Velvick is opening a new lodge there and tackle shop....

I wish. The problem with Ivie is lack of places to stay.
But it also helps keep the pressure down some.

Bass fishing in average. Fish being caught in 5 ft of water on a grape jelly worm, Texas rigged. Or a spinner bait and beetle bug.
Water temps mid 70’s.

Bass excellent to 16 pounds in 1-10 FOW on SB, Jigs, Plastic baits & Umbrella rigs. 203 fish over 8 pounds weighed in since the ice out.

Buddy is down there fishing. Just texted me that Jimmy Houston just pulled up on an area near him.

I may start running guide trips. I installed a live scope end of December and I have caught a few bucket mouths on an A Rig over the past few years.
