I always use Southwestern Parts and Service in Dallas. They are excellent but are about 12 weeks behind right now.

I have a fellow team member and friend here ETBU on the fishing team trying to grow his reel cleaning and rod building business. He lives in Henderson and goes home on the weekend. He would really appreciate the work.

I think RTs son may have continued his repairs. He was working with him when he passed.

Yes, RT's son Mark is still doing repairs. Same location, 8251 West FM 515, Yantis, Tx, 75497.
903-850-8292. Call before going there to make sure he is in the shop. Does the same great work as always.

Just learning that RT passed away? When did it happen? I must have missed it on the forum if it was posted.
Wow, this is the first I've heard about RT as well.

R Tee passed early in January from covid. Both he and his son (Mark) had it and being 84 with other problems didn't help his situation. Mark has been working with his Dad since 2013 and knows a lot about cleaning reels.
He has been working 12-14 hours a day to get caught up. When I was there yesterday he still had some to do but had quite a large number complete. Mine, unfortunately are waiting for parts.
Mark is looking for another reel cleaner to join him because of the volume of reels going through their business. RT is already missed.

Dang, I didn't know that RT passed. Stopped by there a time or two late last year and he wasn't home.

I don’t know where the tacklesmith is at right now but he used to be in Grand Prairie and will do an amazing job wherever he’s at. He’s a long time TFFer with a long history of satisfied customers here.

Can't speak for other reel companies, but I sent all of my Lew's reels back to the service department in December. They were a little behind with service techs out, but got all of my reels back within 4 weeks. $15 for clean and lube, and they fix any broken parts. Ended up costing me $180 for 9 reels including shipping back to me. 8 were cleaned and 1 needed a couple parts replaced. Coach

Shawn is still in GP, did (10) reels for me a few weeks ago. Still top notch work
