Dunlap?

I've never fished Dunlap before. I hear years ago it was a really good lake, but since the introduction of grass carp (Austin, Conroe) it is not nearly what it once was. Is it worth the trip? Share some experiences you've had, the more recent the better, but let's hear 'em all!

Don't know if you are aware but the dam failed in May of 2019 pretty much draining the lake. I hear that you can still access under I 35 with a kayak, etc. but have not personally tried it. Some water left just limited access.

Dunlap is just a river bed now. Plans had been approved for the construction on the old dam that had gave way. Construction/repairs is planned this year. . Prior to the dam break Dunlap was one good lake to fish. thumb

Well poop. I had no idea the damn dam failed. Makes sense, though with that flood I guess. Just looking for other lakes to fish besides the same ol same ol.

thanks for the info, y'all.
