What is the best oil to use on this lower unit? Got a new to me boat and want to change it out this weekend myself.

Thanks

I use the Mercury/Quicksilver lower unit gear oil on my Torquemaster II but if I recall there’s two different ones, get the better of the two.

C130 is correct. There are 2 different kinds of Mercury/Quicksilver lower unit oil. The MERCURY repair manual states the oil that is REQUIRED is called “Hi-Performance Gear Lube” by Mercury/Quicksilver. You will see that on the bottle. I’m not trying to start a debate because Lucas Synthetic may actually be just fine or even better but I was just stating what the official repair manual states.

The Hi Performance gear oil is good oil. I run it in my lower units.
