Trolling battery - 10/01/20 02:40 AM

What is the best battery for under 200.00? Did a search but couldn't find any recent info.

Hands down, WalMart Everstart Max. I usually get 4-5 years out of a set. Came from Trojan SC-225 31 series to the Everstart Max 29 serries and couldn't be happier. Half the price and much better life.

I run my 24V TM sun up to sun down and my battery level indicator only drops 1 light. They are awesome batteries.

Capacity is different in each. Typically the group 31 is the biggest(most powerful)

Re: Trolling battery - 10/05/20 04:32 PM

Also, the battery at batteries plus has 30 month free replacement and at sam's it's 18 months

Re: Trolling battery - 10/05/20 04:43 PM

I've been looking at trolling motor batteries and have come to the conclusion I would rather spend $1,000 on 3 50Ah Lithiums that will last 10 years with a 5 year warranty than to spend $450 - $600 on 3 AGM batteries with a 1-2 year warranty. Not to mention the weight reduction in the boat. I swapped out my cranking battery for a 135 Ah battery 6 months ago and LOVE it.

No, Sam's in about $100 less. Think they are 129 or 139 each last time I saw.

Re: Trolling battery - 10/07/20 03:08 AM

Sam's is typically$179 each for the 31 series unless they having a $20 off sale

Sorry it wasn't $1000, it was $1,295 including tax and shipping. I tend to round down when justifying purchases to myself.

It's from DrewCraft.com. The brand is Ionic. They actually use a really cool app that connects to your batteries and give you all sorts of data on the battery when you are close enough to connect to them via Bluetooth.

I looked at these and other Lithium brands...the charger is where the money is as well.

You paid $1300 for the batteries...what about the charger? Wasn't that another $1000???

Lots of existing chargers can be used on Lithium's. Dual Pro and MK are two I know of.
