How would you rank these four lakes in terms of best bass fishing (quality and quantity)?
Cedar Creek, Athens, RC, Palestine
Im going to be spending a lot of time in the area and I want to learn another lake. I have had a fair amount of success on CC, but I am not sure how it compares to the others around.

The order I like is Athens, Palestine, RC and Cedar Creek. Totally personal preference. Athens is small at around 1800 acres. Palestine and RC are big lakes so a lot more to learn. I just don’t care for CC. If I picked one to learn it would be Palestine. I love East Texas and I like to fish that type of lake.

Palestine first. Like two different lakes, Up north especially when it's cold. Main lake is great when the water warms up. Cedar Creek second. I used to hate CC but have gotten a lot more used to the place. Personally I like Chambers but have not been there much. Some big ones in there. I know lots of people love Athens, but I've never done much there.

Lower arms of CC have always been good to me....athens is a good schooling lake and hit or miss for me...palistine upper part has traditionally been the best lake for me over the years for numbers and size but last year was below average for me but still my favorite- it is an early spawning lake basically the first earliest lakes to start spawning... have hit about 50 east Texas lakes over the last 10 years but haven't been to RC yet miraculously not sure why...
Athens has become nearly unbearable due to popularity over the last few years and the added publicity from major league fishing. But, still, it's one of my 2 or 3 favorite east Texas lakes. Learning Athens and the 2-3 prevalent patterns is far easier than the other three choices IMHO. Plus, it's far prettier than the other three. There are lots of big fish in Athens. More size, relatively speaking, than the other 3. Palestine is a great lake, but harder to learn. North end is great and pretty simple if water level is high enough and water temp is below 80, or so. Cedar Creek is a dock lake IMHO and far far too many rec boats for my taste. Never been on Richland Chambers so can't comment.
