Mother Fork - how I love to hate her... - 08/16/20 04:49 PM
Most of my friends know how I love to hate on Fork, esp for tournaments.
But every once in a while, she rewards you when you don't expect it.
My brother ghosted me this morning (we were going to go to Palestine) so I decided to go run some stuff on Fork for a couple of hours..
Started on a point with grass and managed a 6 and an 8 is on a frog. Better to be lucky than good.
Moved to flipping some deeper docks and managed to pick up 6 solid unders flipping a shaky head once the sun came out. Fish were in about 8' of water. Did this for awhile, moving around the lake but it was only a fish here and there.
Decided to head in and find some a.c..
I shut down and was idling under the 515w bridge and noticed a few fish blow up around a piling. Grabbed a square bill and for the next 20 minutes or so, caught 3-4lb fish on every cast. They quit. I quit and loaded up.
I also might have found a new way to combat "that" dock owner...
I was flipping a dock on the main lake when the owner came down and started yelling at me to get away from his dock . I ignored him and kept fishing, which apparently caused him much distress.... so he came down on the dock and told me that if he wanted all of us "@*#^^^$> bass guys" fishing his dock then he wouldn't have surrounded it with hardware cloth.
I didn't feel like arguing with him so....... I looked at him and told him that he could quit bothering me or I would go home and post GPS coordinates of his dock all over social media and his dock would become the most popular location on the lake.!
He dropped his head and went back to the house..... sorry guys, I'll hold up my end of the deal and am going to withhold the coordinates. (For now)
All in all, a pretty entertaining trip this morning. It's hot boys but keep grinding, they are still biting some.
