Champion Creek and JB Thomas - 08/14/20 01:16 AM
I’m going to take a short trip and fish Champion for a day then maybe head over to JB Thomas. I have never been there, it’s a curiosity more than anything else. Any pointers are welcome.

Last I read Champion was only allowing yearly pass holders, you may want to call to verify. Thomas..... boy... it has some good fish but is absolutely the nastiest red water Ive ever launched a boat in. I wont go back after the water discolored my jackplate. Good luck.

I have a year pass for champion. I’ve fished it one time. I want to go try again. I’ve never been to JB Thomas, I’ve heard it has some good crappie in it.

Good fish in both lakes. Probably.catch better numbers on champion, quality on Thomas.
This year was the first year since it has caught water that i havent been able to find a school of offshore fish. Have made 4 trips, caught 4 fish, 1-6+ and 2-5+.
Fished Champion last week and caught several over 3 and a few over 4. Lots of small fish still shallow, but caught the better fish on green pumpkin jigs in 18-20'.
