This is very interesting.. have never seen anybody do this before. Rigging a worm with a small barrel swivel on the line.. not tied but just through the line, then over the hook.

Works great. Not limited to big worms. Helps keep any bait from sliding down from the eye.

I’ll give it a try. Seems interesting and I have a ton of swivels.

Ever lost a big bass because the worm or brush hog or whatever soft plastic you’re fishing with slipped down the hook and bunched up at the hook bend??

This little hack helps keep the bait from sliding down the hook....

It’s a great little addition to help you hook more fish... and keep them hooked!

Would you ever be concerned that the swivel would cut the line? He said like 15lb flouro which I guess you'd just check frequently.

That being said I am more than willing to try it!! And with full size hawgraisers!!

Roland Martin does that too

What size(s) of swivel would work for this technique? Probably a larger size for 10" worms and about 1 size smaller for 7"- 8" worms?

I use a #4 swivel

Old School fisherman used toothpicks, then came out all other kinds of things as well

Parasite weights
Hitchikers had some as well I think.

I’ll add...

If a worm balls up on the hook and prevents the hook point from coming through, use the correct gauge hook or swing a little harder.

Same concept and less expensive than the "parasite clip" that's been around for years.
