I get to go out Saturday at Port A. I plan on catching fish larger than the state record bass.

I love bass fishing , been doing it for 45 years ---- but I way prefer my trips to Alaska , 50-100lb Halibut in 100+ feet of water on jigs , 30-50lb Ling cod that will pull your arm off , 25-45lb King Salmon and 5-10lb sea bass one after the other on spoons .

I have used bait bigger than the state record largemouth bass, but catching a ten pound largemouth still gets my blood pumping.

Bull reds in brackish water just off shore on medium heavy spinning gear would be my choice.
They are insanely aggressive and never give up. The limiting factor is how long your forearms hold up before you tear something.
LMB are great because the big ones are very smart and a 95+% of the time are a great challenge to fool with artificial lures.

the thing about saltwater fish is that they taste good and you don't mind keeping a few or more. freshwater not so much.
