Garmin Differences?? - 07/31/20 12:31 AM

Anyone with more knowledge of them then I am can tell me which one is better for Livescope....

93sv UHD

1042xsv

Now I know the 8600 series is the best to get but I’m looking to stay on a lower level for now with it....

Re: Garmin Differences?? - 07/31/20 01:52 AM

many people buy that 93 entry level and end up selling them and going to a 10 or 12 series

I have 1222 and 1242 non touch units. xsv I believe designates its loaded with the maps. it has all the navionics maps. my 1242 is a xsv I seldom use the map since I use my helix for mapping etc.

a friend who has fished w me on my boat went with a 10 inch and touch and regrets it says constant smudges and 10 is too small standing on the deck.

I personally have raised mine up 2x.

I think they are about 12-14 inch off the deck now. Ill post a pic in a minute.

The 8600 series offer no benefit at this time for a livescope only unit is my understanding.

I have both on different boats and much prefer the knob adjustments on the 1022 over the 93. It’s much quicker and intuitive than the touch screen. Just my opinion.

That’s exactly what I needed to know guys. I have a 1042 collecting dust at the shop so I need to move it next month. Figure I would pick it up for my livescope

PanOptics on the other, and LiveScope.

I have a friend that has the livescope on his Garmin. He saw a 6-1/2 pounder in front of a dock. It wouldn’t bite, so he FOLLOWED IT TO A BRUSHPILE! Once in the brushpile, he caught it and won big bass last week. 100% due to that graph alone.

Damn Jeff, I think if you used a little southern ingenuity you could squeeze one more graph up there. thumb

So, I thought panoptics and 360 did/do the same thing? Why both?

No incorrect. The panoptics does the livescope and perspective mode which is 270 degree frontal view. The 360 is a perspective point of view but in a 360 design. Both have there good and bads

360
Livescope normal view
Livescope panoramic view

Two complete live scope set ups separate from each other.

At this point panoramic has seemed worthless to me. But it’s on there Anyways. I don’t turn it on very often yet. I need To put some time into using it. I made A adjustable mount for that ducer so I can Angle it deeper or more shallow opening up a lot more use than the Garmin mount.

You need a pickle forked Vexus to get one more graph up front.

Tested it all on first day I added the second live. so everything you see was on. One console graph on slept and both livewells on constant. Did not start my gas engine for 9 hours and my ionoc 125ah lithium battery was at 35 percent.

Based on that the 100ah relion I was Using would have been close to dead or shutting off.

Dragging a lithium down that far kills the life I would think?

Re: Garmin Differences?? - 08/01/20 12:03 AM

No it doesn’t hurt lithium. Your supposed to try and store them at 50% in fact.

I was always under the assumption the more u drag them down, the less life u get out of them. Good to know

That’s a conventional battery. Every time you drag it down it doesn’t get back to full basically. So the best a regular battery is going to perform is day one. After that it is less and less.

That’s not lithium.
