Black Max Winch is the same price as the pro qualifier, when the PQ goes on sale (regular a black Max price is lower than the regular PQ price) and a better deep cranking reel

Nothing wrong with the PQ, I have four of them. I do prefer the original vs the PQ2

13 Fishing Defy Black 2 Crankbait Rod: https://www.fishusa.com/13-Fishing-Defy-Black-2-Crankbait-Casting-Rod
Black Max/Orra Winch

This will handle everything under the sun from 10xd to smaller 5/6 xd, I had a cranking stick and didnt like it not enough bend

I have a BP Crankin Stick with a 5.4:1 Revo X for my deep cranking setup and it has served me well for the price. I'm sure there are better options out there but the crankin stick and revo x are pretty solid and wont break the bank.

What is your budget?? Shimano has an SLX cranking rod available now, or if your budget allows, jump up to a Curado or Intenza cranking rod both are very nice. Pro qualifiers are fine reels but in my experience the drag isn't very smooth at all, which can have a pretty big negative impact when landing fish on treble hook baits. Pretty much any Shimano reel will have a buttery smooth drag.

Had an enigma E Glass that fished nicely, that paired with an older Revo winch.
