Sam Rayburn Boat lanes - 07/16/20 04:09 PM

Will the boat lanes chip show a route from Jackson Hill marina to Veach? I know from Veach south is pretty open to run. Just know nothing from Veach up to and past the bridge.
Thanks

I’m pretty sure it does, if someone don’t confirm when I get home I will check mine.

I don't think it will get you all the way to the marina, but it will get you to the Jackson Hill point.

Mine takes me to Jackson Hill Point. It also takes me on the west side of Bird Island. I run on the east side of Bird Island.

You run the open lake side of bird island? Do you just keep going straight down the lake on that route? I hope not

Boat lane chip gives a lane behind bird island and across Harvey. Also gives one from Veach side of lake that shoots the gap between Amber and Black forest and goes all the way up to jackson hill point. From there it is open water to the marina. I have noticed there are some large floaters that have moved around and likely gotten tangled in some old trotlines. I will see them move several hundred yards at times so be careful even with the chip. This week I have used the boat lane chip to run up Attoyac almost to Townsend, up to shirley creek and Hanks creek down long and short cut. Kinda still gets sketchey at times with random stumps which are marked with big red X.

If ever in doubt just run the bank basically out of jhill around the point heading southeast then down the bridge to the Southside then down the bank across Julie creek to Calhoun point then straight across to Harvey boat ramp then run the bank down to veach. Swing wide of the large point just east of Harvey ramp. That's if you don't have a chip or a clue where you are. Much easier routes but that's always pretty safe for stumps. Couple more feet of lake drop and guys won't be running around like you've been seeing.
