Someone told me a year or so ago that he had a life threatening illness and had to close his shop.

He did have health problems and closed his shop on Jacksboro highway in Ft Worth. Apparently he's working at his home now.
I wish him the best. A very good mechanic and he's even solved my problems over the phone several times.

Another very good lower unit tech is Bobby V. He is near Lake Worth.

Mark Gunter has worked on my motor several times. Great guy and excellent repair man.

Glad to know that he is back in business.

I've always used Tommy at Rockwall Marine. If you're up north, Mike at Lake Park Marine is also a great mechanic.

Ronnie Fretwell, Mark Gunter and Bobby V are all in the west Ft Worth to Weatherford area. They are all good with Mercury and know lower units.
They are all olds and have been going at it for a long time.

I have not used Mark but I will tell you he has helped me 2-3 times on questions I had on my XR 6 over the phone. I will be taking my motor to him end of the year for routine maintenance because he has been so generous with his time by phone.
