Shaky Head

Ok, I think I am going to give the deep water shaky head a try

Is there any other reason besides line size that I should use a spinning
reel vs just using a bait caster?

Can I just use a bait caster with 12/14 lb line?

Thoughts?

either works but spinning works better fishing vertically and allows the smaller diameter line presentation.

I use a small spool baitcaster and 15 lb. test. It works for me and I can show you the results that prove it.

I like seeing big bass pictures, so let’s see them. Not doubting you at all, I just want to see pics!

I use a Mag Light XF spinning rod just cause it makes a two pounder feel like a ten

I use light bait cast of spinning reel. From 6 to 10 pound line, usually 8 with 15 pound string.

I think you get better action with lighter line.
