Hubbard Creek Lake

Hubbard Creek Lake - 06/03/20 03:29 AM

I’m in Keller and my dad is in Midland, TX area. We are going to meet up half way’ish at Hubbard Creek Lake near Breckenridge for some bass and crappie fishing. We’ve never been on the lake. Any advice would be appreciated and more importantly any tree/stump/low areas to avoid on the boat?

Thanks in advance.

Can’t give you an up to date fishing report but very easy lake to run. Limited timber. Just the obvious: shallow points... Also the lake is loaded with hydrilla.

Be sure and launch from the Bob Clark ramp next to the HWY 180 bridge. The lake is close to 100% full right now so its easy to run. Was on the lake briefly Monday and lots of hydrilla right now as stated above.

Fished there last Friday and we caught about 25 Bass but nothing big.
Started by the Dam and fished islands then the west arm.
Caught fish on topwater, spinner baits, senko, crankbait, craws and jigs. Most came from 5-10' deep.
There are plenty to catch and water is clear on North half of the lake with lots of vegetation.
Good luck and let us know how you do.
