Need a Outboard mechanic Referral

Need a Outboard mechanic Referral - 05/28/20 04:00 PM

I’m having some issues with my 200EFI and need a reputable mechanic to look at it. I have used Rockwall Marine for 20+ years and they have always done a excellent job. The problem is that they are 6 weeks out before they will even look at it. I need my boat a lot sooner than that. I’m asking for and looking for names of other Mercury mechanics in the dfw area that I can check into about getting it repaired sooner.
Thanks in advance!!

Man I’m guessing this might not be happening right now. Let me say thanks for the references. Everyone of them I spoke with today is 3 - 5 weeks out. Thanks again !!

Going through the same issue. Called Plano Marine and Rockwall Marine earlier this week. Both of them told me the same thing, 6+ weeks. Got on the waiting list at Rockwall.

What he said! Matt rebuilt my efi trim system for dirt cheap when a well known shop recommended it needed to be replaced for $1600. He’s also looked at the same motor for other issues with a quick turnaround.

X3 for Hughes Marine. Gary's done all but one of my yearly boat maintenance since I bought the boat in 2004. For me, it's worth the drive from Granbury.

I did once, they were pitiful. I would never ever go back. Too many excuses why they couldn't get to my boat in time, left it uncovered in the field even though I brought them my boat cover, and finally got to it three weeks later than promosed. On weekends they will work on other boats even though yours is in line to be worked on so more delays for you. Never never will I use them again. Worst boat repair place I have ever used.

I would stay away from Michael Cimino, comes to your place to work. He worked on my Mercury 150 for 2 months throwing parts at it, around 2k. Never fixed anything and finally left not fixed. I called and called him he never returned my calls and just abandoned it not, another word from him. Not a reliable mechanic in my personnel experience, Michaels Motors & Electronics horrible service.
