Alan henry summer pattern help

Went out to AH today for the first time in over 10 years. Bite early was productive. About 10 it died off so we went to flippin trees in 10-15 ft of water. It wasn't as successful as I remember it being. Might have been in the wrong area or maybe the heavy rains and lake coming up to over 2 feed over flood plane has them further back on the bank. Anyone have any typical patterns they use mid day on AH or any particular areas? We were back in Rocky creek today. Water teamp was 71-74 and muddy. Was fixin to start running crank baits over the top of trees about 20 feet deep but I'm a sucker for flippin so we just kept doin that. Thanks for any tips

They probably just post spawn. Just a week or so ago they were catching toads on beds. Might get better in a couple more weeks

Most years you can catch bedfish until mid-June on Henry.

The first 2 weeks of June is historically the best 2 weeks of the year for me as far as catching overs. I try to find ledges or steep drop offs where the top of the ledge is ~20'. I Normally find fish hanging just on the edge of the ledge and I get bit as the worm is falling over the edge, but got to strip line and keep it near the ledge. This is about the only time of the year I am able to find fish relating to structure. Find the depth they are hanging out at and then find structure at that depth with deep water nearby. They will mostly suspend over the deep water but hang near structure to feed. They will bite in short windows throughout the day. I'm normally dragging a 10" power worm in black/blue fleck, red shad, or motor oil during this time. If you have the patience to wait on a shad colored fluke with a very light weight to sink to those depths it is a great lure for numbers as well.

After that two week period it seems as though most of the fish head deep and suspend over deep water for most of the summer. Those that have the most consistent results chase the large schools with spoons. I haven't been able to figure this technique out yet. I have a hard time finding fish relating to structure in anyway once the summer pattern is in full swing.

I’ll throw in a properly walked Sexy Dawg early and late. The spoon bite is fun but not as consistent as it was when the lake was lower. 100% agree on the bass feeding in short windows. It can be amazing for 20 minutes and then nothing for hours.
