Underspin recommendations

Underspin recommendations - 05/21/20 03:30 AM

What underspin do you guys like?
I’ve been using 6th Sense Underspins with a swimbait ( usually Keitech). I catch a lot of bass slow rolling them, and often catch crappie, white bass, catfish, drum, etc while bass fishing. I like the screw lock and they definitely get lots of strikes. . My issue with them is the hook seems to bend easily. I rarely get more than 1 day out of one without the hook getting badly bent if the fish are biting.
I’ve got several in my box that I’ve straightened with vice grips, but have had to toss several as well.
Is there anything better?

Have you tried Owner Flashy's? Don't think I've ever bent a hook on one and like the wide gap. Good for swim baits. I have lost the spinner on some, but you can replace that without replacing the entire thing.

Blakemore Randy’s Swim’n Runner. Fished with a guide on Fork who threw them, we caught them, fished with them for couple years afterwards now and have had good success, white trash Little Dipper trailer.

Flatlands Custom Tackle’s Shimmer is a good option

Thanks for the recommendations. I had never really used an underspin until a guided trip where we used then and did great . Since then they have become one of my go to baits.

Gambler Meano, it's weighted differently so it swims well at all retrieves. Also has a strong sharp hook. The problem with a lot of underspins is that when reeled fast they will turn sideways. Most don't notice this because they're slow rolled.

I have tried several different types but I prefer the Owner flashy swimmer....it also comes in smaller weights and hook sizes...with a 1/8 oz weighted head and 1/0 hook you can work it thru just about any brush pile...I usually rig it with a skinny dipper

+1 on the Tennessee River Bling from Ledgehead
Cool Baits has great options for the smaller baits like the 2.75 and 3.25s
And the True Lock underpin from True Bass - another one with a good hook that fits the smaller Swimbaits.
