Bow depth finder advice

What do you guys suggest for a fish finder up front? I just bought a boat, and it has a Garmin 93sv at the console, with an old non-working graph at the front. What do you guys look for in a bow depth finder? Does it need side scan? How large should I be looking at? If a bought another Garmin, could the two units communicate? Thanks in advance guys! I just got the boat, and have yet to get it wet.

Congrats now the obsession starts. well a disclaimer/ far from graph guru.Since you have garmin I would stick with that just to save expense. @nd if money isn't too much concern. everyone says bigger is better, talking depth finders/lol. But also cinsider room up front, fish finder troll motor etc. iam pretty sure. garmin units can network together.Just get correct one. Good Luck. Btw I run hummingbird, and went with a 7in. screen. I probably would not go smaller , gotta see details etc from like 6 ft away . my 2 cents.

Good advice ^^^^ other things to consider - How do you fish? Bank beater? Off-shore structure? Also, how good are your eyes? You may be fine with a 7 inch or may need a 10 inch. There is a lot to consider. In general most people match graphs, but if your fishing style doesn't need a networked graph, then get what you like. Some like Garmin's sonar, some do not. But simply adding a Garmin 7 inch unit is definitely the easiest play for someone who is newer and wanting to get started.

Buy another garmin and link them. Then get panoptix. You will also need a heading sensor. Those little things are great.
