13 Hours fishing Athens - 04/28/20 03:39 PM

First off haven't been to the lake in months.
Arrived at 6 am Not very many other boats yet.
Great morning light wind and warm.

Started off the day with a top water bait over top the grass. Grass looks good. top water bite not so much.
Backed out to the main lake points and started looking for shad . Funny thing about this lake is i never seen a lot of bait birds.
Finally found some Shad . On a Main lake point. Was able to catch two fish on each point.
Than nothing had to move on. About 11 am the Sun was already up there and there was a little wind.
Finding a lot of bait-fish was not possible for us.
At noon decided to fish the deep docks. We only targeted the docks in ten feet.
We had run around to get to the docks that would produce.
Had several fish in the 5 pounds range a solid 6 and a bunch of 2.5 s thrown in.
All and all it was
Left at 745 pm with very few boats left.

I had a good afternoon bite in the pads on the far upper end with a frog. When the sun gets up, don’t forget to keep the frog handy.

I hit Athens late yesterday. The wind made it harder for me to fish some spots I had scouted but caught some decent ones on the northern banks.
