OK saibling. here you go... details....

We (The Boss and I) fished (self quarantining) Aquilla today (Sunday afternoon)... a great day to be on the lake.. temperature was very comfortable... little to no wind... and cloudy... Was slow.. we only caught two fish... but I got my BIG ONE of the Spring... quite a fish story... huge fish, It jumped all the way out of the water when it hit my secret top water lure... Could tell it was a GIANT immediately... Huge fight with the fish.. had to pull up the trolling motor and raise the big motor as the fish went all around and under the boat multiple times..The water was only 3 feet deep. My reel back-lashed when the fish hit and I tried to set the hook, but I continued to reel in the line anyway.. The bass was longer than the net was wide and we have a big net.. was difficult to get it in the net.... but The Boss did it on the first try... got it in the boat, and picked it up out of the net and the lure fell out of its mouth, the hooks never penetrated her lips or mouth... we took pics and weighed it.. Then I started straightening out the bird nest in the reel, I discovered the line had broke down in the tangle.. so I had reeled in the fish with a bird nest in the reel, a line that was broken down in the reel, and the hooks were never set... crazy. The fish weighed 8 lbs 8 oz.. and was post spawn, very skinny... note the tail and how worn it was... dropped it back in the lake and it was gone.

If it had been a double d, I would be selling my boat and giving up bass fishing. 73 and time is getting short. Hard on this old body now a days. Just too many aches and pains now.
