Transferring YES Warranty?

Someone school me on this. My buddy got his transferred from a boat he bought out of state with a simple call to a Skeeter dealer. I called a dealer and they want me to bring it in before they transfer the warranty. Just curious about the inconsistency there.

I just sold my 18 model boat a few months ago with a 250 SHO the local dealer had to do an inspection to transfer the warranty.

Thanks for the reply. I don't have any problem taking it in. Just seemed odd that a phone call was all it took in one instance.

Merc just had me fill out the transfer form and send them a check with copy of title transfer. Easy peasy.
