Guessing if I bought a Steez I would regret doing it. Just like I regret ever fishing with a GLX rod I bought recently. I used to be perfectly happy with $100 rods and I am perfectly happy with Curados. Better stick with Curados or that will cost me a bunch of money replacing reels just like that stupid GLX did. I just bought my first NRX...
I hear ya Bass Buster. They are addicting. Here's my take for what its worth.
For soft plastics and/or jigs I want the lightest most sensitive rod I can find. The GLX is about as good as it gets. Yes the NRX and the Conquest may be a tiny bit more sensitive but I'm not sure its "worth" the extra scratch to go up from the GLX. I do have a new 7' Heavy Conquest and it may be the finest rod I have ever used. It is certainly one of the lightest 7' Heavy action rods I have ever picked up. Is it "worth" $650?? Not sure yet. I haven't leaned on it hard enough to know. A rod has to be more than just featherlight to be worth such a premium.
I have several old IMX rods and they are like GOLD to me. It is a workhorse. Light, sensitive and unbreakable. They replaced them with a new model called IMX Pro and I do not like it as well. It feels tip heavy to me even with the same reel. I tell folks if they don't want to spend the money on a GLX or above not to buy a Loomis. There are a LOT of rods in the Under $200 price point that are just as light & sensitive as the IMX.
