Re: MLF - 03/13/20 08:22 PM

Re: MLF - 03/13/20 08:46 PM

Hopefully no one goes and ravages it afterwards. Let the guy have it for a day or two.

Re: MLF - 03/13/20 08:54 PM

He was up in Glade, so is Fletch. I think Tok was up there this morning too. I'm sure you will see other anglers up there tomorrow and plenty of kayaks and non MLF boats.

For the comment about the extra boats. I am surprised too there isn't more considering when I went on Wednesday it was packed like a holiday weekend. It may just be the angle of the camera shots as we don't get many looks of what's 100 yards down the bank. It had to be the threat of storms keeping everyone out, plus they had to run to Costco and Sams to buy more toilet paper.

Re: MLF - 03/13/20 11:47 PM

the combined weight of the 40 pros is incredible. and that many over 5 Lbs too. Did you see how many 3 1/2's were caught.

at the end Sprague was in the cove we fished all day on Thursday/ Except he caught more than we did. Could be that they were just moving in. Good excuse anyway.

Group B day 1 will be out tomorrow.

I hear they may have been chomping a frog on Rayburn last weekend.

They were commenting on the number of fish caught by each angler before the fishing started.

The comment was made that they hoped to catch 10 fish today and they would call it a good day. bolt

Plenty of them did but there were some that did not. hmmm

How many bed fish got caught twice today?
Posted By: fouzman

Re: MLF - 03/14/20 05:04 AM

how many JL? I didn't get to watch until the last 14 mins. I'd guess less than 5%.
Posted By: BNKrust

Re: MLF - 03/14/20 05:17 AM

I bet there are several tomorrow and Sunday...

Re: MLF - 03/14/20 11:45 AM

Last weekend vs this weekend is totally different conditions. Anybody can catch 'em now...and it'll last for another 8 weeks which is even a better thing. Leave the pros alone for the next couple of days, and then you can go have your fun.

I thought another guy came in behind the leader and caught like 50lbs in the same tiny pocket? I know daniels was catching a pile of big males on beds. I'm sure quite a few are ready to bite soon after release

And he only has three rigs on his deck. It is funny to watch some of the pros sitting on a bed and then start fumbling around trying to get to a different rig. Stealthing they are not.

Re: MLF - 03/14/20 10:40 PM

Two 10's and a 9 are they entering these as elite and lunker class sharelunkers?
Posted By: BNKrust

Re: MLF - 03/14/20 11:02 PM

They didn't I don't think. Atkins was trying to, but had trouble getting the scales off so he just put her back.

Huh?, if weighed on a certifed scale they qualify for sharelunker.
Posted By: BNKrust

Re: MLF - 03/14/20 11:15 PM

They qualify, and it's the angler's discretion. The official on the boat called and asked about the procedure, but since Atkins had trouble, he didn't want to waste anymore time or cause the big girl any more stress so he put her back.

Re: MLF - 03/14/20 11:16 PM

And honestly, it was so fat, I'm not sure she wasn't a slot fish. If so, he couldn't have possessed it anyway.

They don't take the 10lbers only 13+, a ten can still been enter though.

He decided not to clip scales off of her to send in. He just wanted to get her back in the water.

Hve enjoyed their event so far. Still bet more big fish are caught. Realistic to expect a DD per day the next 3 days on Fork

Re: MLF - 03/15/20 12:56 PM

Anyone know where they launched From and where most are spending their days?

I am going to be fishing Fork for the first time April 5-8.

Knowing the fish will likely be in different pattern by then but still curios where the majority are fishing.

From what I’ve seen and know these guys are all over the lake from the north end to the south end. Best you pick a few areas and fish them hard.

Is JT Kinney an inside joke that I don’t know about? He’s clearly the comedic relief, but is he? Was he known for being funny prior?

This Fork tournament is fun to watch. But I also wonder how long before they get rid of the 3 period non-sense. Is that just a break for cameramen and staff? The anglers just sit down and wait it out.

Some of these guys would not eat or drink for 9 hours straight, the period breaks is a good idea, usually see them working on tackle too.
