WHY ME

WHY ME - 03/10/20 12:33 AM

I was trying to straighten out my crank baits box and let it slip out of my hand. First I made the choose not to grab it because I could see that a good bunch of them were all ready coming out, so I just let it go. The problem came when they all feel in my open rod box. Cranks and rod socks don't get alone. Hour or so later I got them out and back in the box.
My question is how can a bass put them in her mouth and them let go and never get hooked? I know I got stuck ten or more times and they were a pain to get lose from the mess of the socks. I sure some of you will enjoy this post on my behalf.

Take one of them and bury 1 hookpoint from each treble, somewhere on your hand. Then as violently as you can, shake your hand from side to side. Let us know ho long it took for you to throw the hooks . Then you'll wonder how can a bass do that with it's mouth.

Funny how they stick us that way yet a bass can get away from them so often

All the bass we've ever caught have voodoo dolls of us, and poked with treble hooks....
Bummer, that looked like it hurt. Tim

Wondered the same thing for years. bang
Was reading of a few pro's who would use two split rings to help. Not crazy about the added wt or distance as it seems to make some baits move differently and in some cases the hooks stay fouled with each other more if they overlap from the added length.
I've been tinkering with an idea of removing split ring and using heavy braid to fasten hooks...Still in the process but so far it's promising.

Bloody treble hooks.

The patented blood spot triggers the fish to bite

I think it's easier and less painful just to buy red hooks.

The old song WELCOME TO MY WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I try to keep my hooks so sharp that they stick you by looking at them. ULTRA SHARP hooks do not loose as many fish, as long as you keep good pressure on them. I prefer the VMC Round Bend hooks for sticking HARD into their mouths. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Better in your garage than out on the water with the other treble attached to a deeply hooked fish.

Bass have lots of arms they can use to dislodge the trebles but are invisible to us after we land them!!!!!! I have stuck a treble in my leg once that took all the strength I had using pliers to rip it out, so I have always wondered how Bass seem to throw my baits so easy.
