Headed out for toads this week.....

Headed out for toads this week..... - 03/08/20 01:35 PM

Am I missing any presentations? I plan to keep it real simple because I’m looking for giant fish out suspending and gonna try to have them react while thinking of their next move. Gonna go with big spinnerbait, Trap, and CB. I’m not gonna be fishing slow, so no milking of any baits, not even a jerkbait. May throw A-rig a little, too. Please let me know your thoughts.

Chatter bait I would add to the list if you are looking for a reaction bite.

Had a pretty good day yesterday on a jerk bait bite targeting females staging yesterday. Not even around rock its just what they wanted. May wanna keep one handy if they don't want anything else.

No one much throws an A rig set up right this time of year. Trust me, if you are going after suspended bass, I'd use it
Good Luck

Hey biggest one ever, of all the people ever bass fishing in the state, of all the lakes in the state was caught doing exactly that! Which isn’t that food for thought! Thousands of bass anglers, spending millions of dollars, fishing hundreds of different lakes, in one of the best state for bass, and the state record caught on a minnow by a crappie fisherman. 🤔

Go to the very back of Glade Creek Mark, you probably won't see another boat all day. thumb

Drop shot. Trust me. Just use “The Force”. They’ll get to the side of the boat eventually.

Fred Arbogast Mudbug in chrome blue back. I wouldn't tell a lot of folks about them though, tackle shops will be out within a week.

Only one fish today at Lew. I didn't get to fish where I wanted to due to the wind and also I picked the boat up for 20-hr oil change from the new Plano Marine location at Pier 121, so I just put in there. Fished for 2.5hrs and mainly ran the boat. I had two bites. One slammed the same trap that I caught one on but did not get hooked up. Expecting better things at GV tomorrow and Wed.

Re: Headed out for toads this week..... - 03/10/20 11:03 PM

It was a very tough day on GV today for me. Lots of boats out there. Doesn't anybody work any more? I boated 4 and got 6 bites. Fished 6 hours. Could not get a moving bait bite to save my life. I caught all 4 on a jerkbait and missed one, biggest was maybe 2.25lbs. Bites all came in Twin and I had a nice crappie bite on a baby brush hog that didn't hook up in the back of Scott's. If clouds and wind would have been present, I believe it would have made a difference. Most areas temps are 56-58 and it got to 61 late this afternoon. It's just a matter of time for the lake to explode. There may be some females moving up by the weekend with a couple of 85 degree days coming in the next day or two.
