And they’re HQ is in Sulphur Springs. Visited for the first time a couple weeks ago with a couple rods I needed stitched up/replaced, they were super helpful and had me out the door in 15 minutes. Every rod they make available in person. Big fan of Dobyns!!!

I am a big fan of the Megabass U.S. Destroyer Warhammer for the heavy work and the Megabass U.S. Destroyer Bunker Buster for lighter punching.

I am already saving for the bunker buster for pitching 1/2oz jigs in thick cover. I wanted to also buy the warhammer but have heard reviews about the war hammer breaking as well as the onager

This is what I use, but there might be a newer model that is a bit longer. Either way, Power Tackle Rods are legit!

I have not seen any Warhammers break and only 1 Onager that broke the first year we had them. I will look at actual numbers this weekend but its not been an issue that I know of.

Power Tackle 100%
LPC 1100 or LPC 970
Sink, can you explain the difference? I’m a PT junkie but don’t have too many of the newer models! I hear the “one” series are amazing!

Daiwa Kage’ Flipping stick. It has the tough, double footed guide train with SiC(braid rods...Alconite on the regular) inserts and is light and severely strong.

I like the 765 and the 766 rods from Dobyns. Here are the specs on the..
765 Description: 1pc. 12-25lb, 1/4- 2oz, Med/Hvy Flip Fast Action
Techniques: Flippin' Stick
766 Description: 1pc. 14-30lb, 3/8- 2 1/2oz, Hvy Flip Fast Action
Techniques: Flippin' Stick
They both get the job done very wel
Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.'

Power Tackle 100%
LPC 1100 or LPC 970

The 970 to me is equivalent to the old 104.5. I know it says the 1100 is also XXH as well. But it just feels like the 1100 is a step above the 970 in power.
The “one” series rods are unbelievable. I’ve been using the 03 one a lot this year so far throwing traps and senkos and dang they are sensitive. Some of the LPC’s you can use for several different things. I flip with a 7’3 970. I also use it for frogs. Judy and Tim have done a great job on these new rods.

Re: Best High-End punching rod - 03/05/20 01:56 PM
I broke a Warhammer trying to pull a snag. I replaced it with another Warhammer and have had no issues. I also broke two MB Javelins in the course of one week, by boat-flipping 5lbers, which is clearly user error. I replaced with a third Javelin. Megabass makes great rods, but the breaking issues are real, however, at least in my case, all attributable to my errors rather than an inherent weakness or deficiency in the rod.

Kistler 7'3" or 7'6" KLX 5 Power Heavy or 6 Power X-Heavy. If you need heavier there is a 7 Power XX-Heavy.

Very close. 1100 is a little more stout. But not by much. I prefer the 970 cause I like to flip with a 7'3. You can get the 970 in a 7'3 or 7'6. The 1100 is only 7'6.

GLX 954
I've tried plenty of "broom sticks" and the 954 has the right tip/back bone for me.

I think i’ll get the 1100 because i like a stouter today and 7’6 rods but another question how have the guides held up and how light is the rod
