Camelot Bell Full Day Trip for Two! Charity Fundraiser/Auction - Suicide Prevention - 02/09/20 04:22 PM

Camelot Bell Full Day Trip for Two is up for auction - post your bid on this thread!

Mike Frazier has been kind enough to donate a full-day trip for two to Camelot Bell. Use his boat or take your own - www.camelotbell.com. The trip will be awarded to the highest bidder as of February 21st at 8:00 P.M. You may then pay through the link below.

As some of you know, our family has been greatly affected by suicide.

I’m honored to be on the board for the South East Texas Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and also chairperson for the U of H Out of the Darkness Walk on April 4th, 2020. AFSP raises awareness about mental health, educating, raising funds for research and aid to those affected by suicide. Together, we can change lives. We hope to help one person, one family, or many lives not have to experience the heartache of suicide.

If you have not fished Camelot Bell don’t miss out. Bid for yourself and take a guest or split bid and go with a friend. Great fishing for a great cause! And your generous donation is fully tax deductible.

Many Thanks!

Allison Mahfouz (Mrs. fouzman)

Dang I remember when I had the chance to go but wasn’t able to go to the bell years ago. Thank you Miss Fouz for doing this. As a soldier Susie effects me a couple of times a year as I lose battle buddies every year. We need to remove the stigma of mental disease and get help to the ones that really need it. I’m sry for your loss as well.

We made a short trip up to the Bell, yesterday PM. Chris and I needed to get away, but had no idea it would end up like this. Waning full moon, and a couple warming days, were sure to bring a few big girls up shallow. Fouz caught a 13.5 and 12 on his first two casts. Yes, I hate him sometime. I caught an 8-9 lber on my first cast. Awhile later, I caught this 12.5. Chris finished our limit with a heavy six. 37.5lbs on 3. 52+ on 5. Just amazing!

Mike Frazier, owner of CB, and Dr. Joe fished yesterday. Mike caught this 10 and Joe caught a 13.75 and a 12. Notice Joe's 12, and my 12.5 have a bunch of eggs yet to come. Where else are you going to have a shot at fish like these AND get a full tax deduction? Do I hear $2300?

Sorry, but the IRS does not allow a tax deduction for auctions, raffles or anything where you set the price on what you think it is work.

So i was debating whether or not to weigh in on this, the IRS has guidelines in regards to charity auctions (https://www.irs.gov/charities-non-profits/charitable-organizations/charity-auctions) assuming the foundation this trip was donated to for bid is a 501(3)(c) org there is possibility of deductible charitable donations. Of course if you do not itemize you dont get a tax benefit anyways.

Doubt they worried about that deduction lol

AFSP is recognized as a 501(c)3 not-for-proit organization by the federal government. The tax ID number or EIN number for AFSP is 13-3393329.

Bid high, enjoy the trip and help the organization! Don't worry about the deduction. The charity is more at risk with the IRS and I am sure they handle it properly.

Re: Camelot Bell Full Day Trip for Two! Charity Fundraiser/Auction - Suicide Prevention - 02/21/20 09:34 PM

The fish above was caught on the Wolfpack Lake. That's Mike's new lake N of the Camelot Bell dam. It's 30-35 acres and has water as deep as 42'. Wolfpack was stocked with 70+ giant females between 10 and 15 lbs after it flooded. Mike added 10 or 12 males between 5 and 7 lbs. The fish above was one of the original offspring from that effort.

Thanks to all who have viewed this post and bid on the trip. AFSP is a cause near and dear to both Allie and me.

Many Thanks to Mike Frazier and Camelot Bell for donating this trip. And to J.P. and the TFF for hosting this wonderful charity !!!

Chris and Allie
