Not the first lake in 30 years. Maybe the largest in 30 years. I look forward to fishing it about 10 years after it fills to full pool. I'm happy that TPWD already stocked it with SAL offspring. (stocked ponds in the lakes footprint)

It’s going to be another Cooper (Jim Chapman)
The water purification plant that it is to feed is almost complete. Want be long after it is full that they will start pulling water out .

that's why lakes are made. remember when Joe Pool opened? it was gonna be the next Fork. Fannin county is putting an effort to make it a tourist attraction including us anglers, and if only the glory days of Cooper could be repeated.

when those bass TPWD stocked in Fork before it was flooded in stock ponds when those bass actually got to swim out some were already super lunkers. That should work well for Bois D Arc.

As remote as it is perhaps they won't need to post guards to keep the scum out who would want to pot the ponds and pull out the bigguns for their stock ponds.

Unfortunately while it seems “remote” for me in Glen Rose when you look at the new lake it’s really close for the growing population north of Dallas! cry

I'll give a rip about all of this new lake stuff when the powers-to-be decide to create a new lake around Houston. There is at least a dozen lakes within a 50 mile radius of Dallas. I'd be stretching it to say that there are 3 around Houston.
