Lake worth a good lake always good around docks. Reeds and especially rocks right now. Went today first time since
September and made 10 casts. Hooked up with a good one but lost her as Tarrant co Marshall yelling at me to check my boat and tell me I have to leave the lake and get a cushion float. 😖

One of the many reasons I love lake Worth. They do boat checks on every boat out there so you better know the law and have all your stuff in order. Think I was checked probably 8 times last year before I started just getting waved at as they went by instead of stopping. They’re all pretty nice guys, really appreciate what they do.. wish our other lakes in the metroplex had the same level of enforcement on them.

Fishing wise it’s slow like everywhere else right now but if you know where the hydrilla is you can still get a few to eat.

Are they mostly checking Wednesday night or Saturdays?

I’d like to think I have more days on that lake that most and haven’t been checked but do the majority of my fishing during the week.

I also got skunked out there yesterday. Tried fishing rocks, docks, and reeds anywhere from 5ft-12ft and couldn't get a bite. Water temp was 53-55 everywhere I went. Tried throwing a crankbait, finesse baits, and a few other things.

Weekends mostly, but they do come by the ramp on Wednesdays and check guys before they launch for the tournament from time to time also.

Re: hows Lake Worth fishing - 03/05/20 09:35 PM

It's been tough for me, went last Saturday....threw Colorado bladed spinnerbaits , squarebills and brush hogs....not even a nibble, just north of Jacksboro bridge.
I grew up on this lake, and when I finally got a boat I told myself I was going to kill them, lol, not so much...
Who is the local Worth expert on here ? I've been on a learning trip with James Biggs last January (2019), 20 mile an hour winds and 40 degree weather post front made it tough, of course he jacked a 6lb'r ....
If anyone has advice I'm all ears lol

Never fished it, Ratz is a great friend from college and it was a joke. You need to lighten up some.
