Forrest Wood passed away

Forrest Wood passed away - 01/25/20 03:37 PM

I copied this from another website...

Peacefully, with his family by his side, Forrest L. Wood of Flippin passed away on January 25, 2020 in his 87th year. Alongside his wife Nina of 68 years, they founded Ranger Boats, established a family cattle ranching operation, and built a worldwide network of dear friends. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the team at Baxter Regional Medical Center and the many friends who have provided comfort during this difficult time. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be released shortly.

I had the pleasure of meeting him once...you won't find a nicer more unassuming man...R.I.P.

RIP Mr. Wood, he was a large figure in the sport of Bass fishing. A very nice person who would take the time to visit with you, not just sign a cap and push you away. Prayers for his wife and family.

RIP... met him a few years ago and won't ever forget that big white cowboy hat!

I hope the FLW athletes do like in other sports where they wear a "patch" the rest of the season in Honor of the deceased.

Yes he did, maybe the most influential one person in Bass Boats. He forced everyone to raise the bar. RIP.

Re: Forrest Wood passed away - 01/26/20 01:35 AM

RIP! angel

I credit 3 people with making fishing what it is today. One is Nick Crème, one is Ray Scott, and the other is Forrest Wood. Now only one of those 3 is still with us. His influence and contributions will last longer than any of us on this forum though. Only a handful of people can make an impact like that regardless of what path in life they choose.

I sat with him at the Classic last year with the Vexus group, very fine man, we ate dinner and he mostly talked about feeding cattle and what not. Have a pic with him and my wife, think I will put it on the wall at our restaurant, RIP Mr Wood

Re: Forrest Wood passed away - 01/26/20 04:56 AM

He saw so much farther down the road with respect to bass fishing in the early years of co prtitive fishimg and created a platform to fish from for the most part.

He made quite an impact on fishing no doubt.
