Quick Fork Report 1/18/2020
As of this post, Lake Fork water level is 401.33 with water temperatures running anywhere between 52-54 depending on the day.
As we are getting closer to February, the fishing is slowly starting to pick up here on Lake Fork. So far, the last couple of weeks I would say the fishing has been decent and on my half day trips we are catching 8-12 fish - some days a little less. This is perfectly normal for this time of year and I expect we will start to see some much larger fish caught here soon.
I've been staying on main-lake bank lines the last couple of weeks and catching fish in 2 to 5 feet but I am also still able to catch some fish out in the 10'-12' depth. I'll put a list of the baits I am throwing below.
SHALLOW BAITS 2 - 5 feet
1. 1/4 oz Bill Lewis Rattletrap (RED)
2. 3/8 oz Jack Hammer ChatterBait (white) with a Lake Fork Magic Shad for a trailer.
3. Texas Rig 3/0 Gamakatsu with a 1/4 oz Tungsten weight - Senko or V&M (Black/Blue).
Deeper Baits 10 - 12 feet
1. Bandit 300 Series Crankbait
2. Suspending Jerkbait
Here are some of the fish from last week we caught on Lake Fork to give you an idea of what we are currently catching.
For those of you looking to come out and fish, I still have plenty of days open for the rest of Jan/Feb. I hope this information can help you catch some fish.
