FISHED LEW A BIT YESTERDAY..... - 01/16/20 12:58 PM
From 2pm until 4pm. I needed to replace a bow roller and run the boat so headed to Lew. Tons of folks were on the water. It almost felt like a weekend out there. Needless to say, I got 0 bites. I fished a jerkbait, jig, and trap on some good stuff. Bait was present but still notta. Did anybody catch 'em on Lew yesterday? Just wanted to confirm that I really do sux as a bass fisherman.

Did pretty good yesterday on a shakey head in 10’. Young Lab pup enjoyed the excitement. Bite was slower than it has been. May be cause they were pulling water at 4200 yesterday.

I fished there 3:00-6:00 yesterday with zero bites.
You got to slow way down and then slow down some more on Lew when the bite is slow. Jig will always get you bit around some rocks.

As mentioned. Normally, when it gets tough life that I go to a soft plastic of some kind. A FLUKE will catch a lot of fish, with a light split shot weight on it. S L O W fishig, but youi can put a few in the boat, normally. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Well yeah, its Jan yall!
Man I dont care what guys write in Bass magazine and what the "pros" say, fishing for Bass in Jan sucks. Same for Feb. I can count on one hand the number of bass I have caught in Jan and Feb.
Now some smart guy will come along and tell me that I am wrong and that he has great days all the time in Jan and has caught 7 DDs in Jan alone and blah blah.
NO! I reject that. Fishing in Jan and Feb sucks!

My son and I had our kayaks out yesterday and absolutely nothing. We only fished the bridge pilings on I-35. I though for sure we'd get a crappie or sandbass or something.....nothing.

Some spots hold fish on a pattern that one might usually reserve for spring and fall. Especially with the lake up 2 feet.
