I like them. I'm a long time green Curado user so I had high expectations. They make a whirring sound during the cast but casting and reeling are really smooth. My superpower seems to be backlashing any reel on the planet and I can tell you I've backlashed the DC a few times when casting into the wind. I'm still getting used to it, but so far I really like them.

I backlash my DC reels almost as often as I backlash the regular Curados. Ha. The trick to the DC is you gotta whale on it pretty good. A light, normal cast and the DC will not activate and it’s backlash city. The noise it makes gives me vertigo. Lol. I get dizzy and the noise grates on me until I set it down and grab a different reel. Build quality is good. The size of the palm side is larger and the spool is shallower, to make room for the digital control “module”.

I give mine a 7 outta 10.

I have 5 Curado DCs and one SLX DC. They are all decent reels. I’m not sure I’d spend the extra $70 for the “DC” if I had it to do over again.

A real positive? When you really sling em, they do cast farther than any other reel I’ve EVER owned.
A real negative? They are “glitchy” when flipping and side slinging baits. Enough to cause me to miss targets by a foot or more.

Ditto what Pitad said. I have not had much trouble on backlashes, however, unless I am casting into a high wind, probably when I shouldn't be fishing anyway. GOOD stuff. THANKS sShimano. I consider this reel the 2nd best Curado reel, behind the old fashioned Greenie B reels. I still; have 12 Bs, mostly in 5.1l1 gear ratio. If it ain't broke, no need to fix it. Hope this helps.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I think the Daiwa Tatula SV TW and the Zillion SV TW are easier to set up so they don't backlash than the Shimano DC, at least for me they are. I throw a 3/8 oz. swim jig and trailer with the DC and it does fine. I haven't tried it out with a lighter weight bait. I bought one to try it out but I don't like it well enough to get a second one. I would get the Daiwa instead.

I have a couple of them. They are good reels. I actually like the new Curado K better. I can adjust the K where I can throw it farther than the 150 DC. With 20# fluoro tied to the spool you can empty the DC with a 1 oz jig and a 7 1/2' rod. I mean full spool and empty to the knot if you try. The benefit of the DC is that you can adjust it to minimize backlash if you are skipping under docks and you hit the dock mid-cast with your bait. That is where the DC shines.

The Curado K is a 200 size reel so it holds about 20 more yards of line so it gives you some extra distance if you need it. For my style of fishing I like the extra spool capacity of the K.

I personally think the curado DC is overrated. It is cool technology but to me it doesn’t out perform a properly set up Curado K. Especially it being 70 bucks more.

It’s a good reel for making bomb casts with crankbaits and such but that’s about it.
