Is it too late for a lake to turn over ?
Went to Ray Roberts this morning and the was a green looking slime on top of the water and floating in the water .
Went to several different places , same thing.

I was wondering the same today. Definitely some type of algae bloom and/or turnover. Really mucked up some areas. I thought I was seeing things this morning. Fishing was pretty decent before the water changed.

I left at noon as a result. Almost took of yesterday to fish. Glad I didn’t.

Skunked two weeks in a row, for me

I think it has already turned over and has been for a few weeks. Fish that I was catching shallow from shore without a lot of effort are now baron. I also think if you watch the fishing reports, I am not saying they are always right, but the fish were around 25 feet deep a couple weeks ago and still in the teens this last report. That and the up and down weather I think they have fattened up and the only thing shallow now is resident fish.

Probably algae bloom from warming trends

North end of the lake is muddy from the rains and they started sucking water out pulling the mud south. Dirtied up the main lake. We're way past turnover.

Everything we catch shallow is random. Any pattern is deeper. Still. Water yesterday was 56.8 to 59.6 I missed the turnover.

Definitely tough. I marked quite a bit of bait and white bass. When you got around them though they were grouped up. My water temps were around 52 to 55 depending on time of day and where I fished. I wish I figured them out and had more to post but I didn't.
