I miss the good ole days where we used to argue about one shallow water anchor or two or bringing the old honey hole song back...

Mr Jones, do you ever get to fish? Or are you always working promoting and edititing for Honey Hole?
If so what's your favorite lake?
What's the largest bass you ever caught?
Do you like beans in your chilli?

Speaking of the good ol days, what about buzzing rods, Hags Tornado vs "whoever it was" and the real difference between cover and structure.

Oh..and any picture post asking if a fish is a spot or a largemouth

Those were usually good for 20+ pages

Re: The good ole days... - 12/12/19 12:08 AM

Heck y'all aren't talking about the good old days, those were in the 70's . We West Texans would drive East to Hubbard Creek at Breckenridge and usually a bunch of DFW guys would drive West to the same lake. Even when there wasn't a tournament there would be 60 or 70 boats in the 3 boat ramp parking lots around the lake. Those were the good old days.

Fork prekill with timber, grass out to 20fow growing to the surface, no park home developments, and EBs BBQ. Ray Roberts with grass on the flats west of Wolfe Island all the way to lick creek and catching giant top water bass out of it in January/February. Monticello being open.

LOL, yes because I am a tackle junky. I have stuff that hasn't been made for many years now. I still have a package pig tail worms and quite a few Pig claws from Lake Fork Tackle.

I still have some Jawtec and Bruce worms. LOL

Back in the old days most of my fishing tackle came from Gibsons. Mans Jelly worms came in a 3 pack and your choices were purple white tail, black grape, strawberry, motor oil, motor oil marmalade (that one had an orange tip) that was before dip n dye existed, and solid black.
