Lost My Best Friend Today

Please send Prayers to Mike and Family. He was my fishing buddy sense 1982 when I moved to Odessa. We spent many wonderful days on the water and won many tournaments together. This was really quick with a Blood Clot in an Artery that could not be fixed. We were able to spend many years fishing Mexico together, He came to Justin just last month and spent 3 days with me and a Crappie trip to the Ray Roberts Brush Piles. We met for our last adventure at Lake Falcon 2 weeks ago where he caught his largest Bass at 11.7. I truly appreciate all your thought and prayers.

Don, I wish I could say something that would ease the pain of Mike's passing. I will, however, never forget the expression and excitement on his face, and yours, when his PB surfaced, and then when we finally got her in the net. He was still shaking and grinning til y'all left that next day. Hold that memory close to your heart and remember how happy he left. He'll be waiting for us with a smile bigger than that when we see him next time.

I don’t know what other people’s beliefs are but condolences to you and his family......but not for him. Clearly he didn’t suffer to much to long if he was fishing Falcon two weeks ago and this I am sure: he is in a way better place than us. That is how this all works! Also it’s amazing how fast sorrow turns into good memories! Sorry for YOUR loss!

37 years fishing together with a good friend, then catching a PB 2 weeks before passing is a pretty good run in my book. May he rest in peace and fish on in the next world.

Prayers to you and his family, I know it's got to be tough

I want to thank everyone for all the prayers. It was so supportive in getting through conversations with family members while in Odessa; without breaking down completely. The TFF Family is the best. Mike can never be replaced on our Mexico trips; but he would not want us to not go. It is going to be difficult to find a replacement Team to follow me down there. I can still use some help if you know of a couple of guys that can make 2 or 3 trips each Spring. The Funeral was absolutely beautiful and the Church was full of the oilfield workers whose lives were impacted by his kindness for over 40 years.

A big shout out goes to Brian Parker who was our guide for the 3 days that we were on Falcon. He made the trip from Zapata to Odessa to meet the family on Friday and deliver that Senko to display beside a huge picture of Mike and the 11.7, made into a flower arrangement beside the Casket. Brian is truly one of the most sensitive and personal people that you will every meet. If you can use him on any of the Southern area lakes please give him a call. He is here on the TFF and Facebook.

That is a tough one. Prayers for all to be lifted up.

Prayers for the family and friends, Mr. Harper. I have been through this as well, and every morning when I launch the boat and smell the 2 stroke oil burning while the sun is coming up I think about the good times we had on the water.
