Is this worth the money for an Ultrex?

I like mine. Can't say it reduces vibration but I like the fact no tools are needed for prop removal. I feel like the props break a whole lot easier these days and gobthrough 1 or 2 per year. Also I like checking it for line iften. It helps make both easier to ne.

I have one but it won't work on the Kipawa prop I prefer.

Just the fact that i now can remove and check for line. Or as it has happened twice to me, where my troller picked of a wad of braid. i was able to easily fix on the lake.

Easy on and off to swap props, check and remove line.

If you buy one ...check it often to make sure it is tight. I bought one for my MotorGuide a couple of years ago and noticed it had a tendency to get loose after a few days of use.. I did not check it enough.. It's now on the bottom of Lake Worth ... I used my hand to get it as tight as I could but should have used channel locks..Went back to the original nuts. The fish don't seem to mind.

That’s what I see as the best benefits for sure

Same here, I have one but run my kipawa prop so its not on there its in the boat with the std ultrex boat if I end up in grass for days on end that 2 blade is better than the kipawa in grass so I figure I may change.

I carry a spare kipawa also, Ive never broke one but Im really hard on the edges and constantly beat it up.

Id suggest if your going to run one you drill a hole in the middle so you can put a screwdriver in there if you break the pin, otherwise youll have to chop the prop apart (I used a skinny wheel on my grinder, never leave home with out it in my rv) to expose the shaft to grab it and loosen the nut since the prop will spin on the shaft.

Use lots of anti seize on any prop nut.

Spend your money how you want, but I've never had an issue with the factory prop nut on Minn Kota or MotorGuide...

Definitely worth the money. Especially for people who fish around gill nets

You still need to keep some channel locks in the boat.....when it gets tight hard to remove with just you hands

Which at the point, it becomes useless and you might as well just stick with the OEM nut..

Never heard of the Kipawa until this thread. Can those who have one, and have also used the standard 2 blade weedless wedge 2, give me a few details as to how they perform? How does the Kipawa hold up in high winds? Does it seem to be faster than the 2 blade at the same speed interval? In occasional grass (I mainly fish Rayburn and T-Bend, so nothing crazy where your deep into grass like in some Florida lakes).

Also, do you feel your battery life is longer with the Kipawa?

yes Ill give details
dont understand ? about holding up in winds do you mean at 70 on the boat in the wind? It does spin fast while stowed and on the big motor hauling the mail, I dont remember my 2 blade doing that but I havent ran that much.
yes faster
yes battery life since your using a lower speed setting than a 2 blade.
