Giant sack! Those kids are from Van. Good friend of mines son is one of the kids who caught them. They work hard and it really paid off. Some college will be very lucky to get them on their team.

Probably shallow on spinnerbaits, squarebills, or chatterbait. Just a guess

Absolutely. Chatterbaits and spinners over grass...shallow....has been great the last few weeks.

Never been to Palestine. The lake has grass?

Kickapoo usually best bet for it but don't have to have it. You find the right stretch of stumps they're on, it's over

I heard they fished in a flat bottom , went where nobody could get to . But good for them ! Monster bag for fall .

That makes sense. Getting up in either river at this water level is really tough. It's a boat killer.

That's exactly what they did. Second place team had 15.66

That’s the second HS tournament that Hut Reeves and Talon Burkett have won this year. They are the real deal. Congrats to them both.

I've had the opportunity to be a boat captain at a few events this fall, and I have to say these young anglers are very impressive!!!

Their boat captain is who i'm impressed with, and don't even know who he is.

Is their boat captain one of the the kids parents or relatives? Looks like Scott McCarty was their boat captain. Quite a bag they had!

Congrats to the Van team! That was an incredible sack of fish! Our hats are off to them. Pake and his partner Eric had the 15.66 for second. We had some good practice with a 22+lbs. sack two weeks prior to the tournament. With the lake down almost 2” it was very hard to get into where you needed to fish to compete. We had long idles through thick stump fields to get to our spots and got the boat hung up several times. God blessed us and we didn’t break anything. The fog was so thick you could barely see the front of the boat.

The boat captain needs to grow his hair out so he will fit in better.

At this level it's almost impossible to catch a big bag and or win without tearing up a fiberglass boat. Unless you're trailering

I commend the restraint of the boat captain!! roflmao

Short lines and heavy tackle is my kind of fishing.
