Started off weird but had a great day on Wright Patman! - 09/22/19 03:14 AM
Got to the lake late, ramp I was going to use was closed, then saw a HUGE(4'er) cottonmouth at the ramp, so thought "hmm fishing might suck" BUT nope it didn't!! Hit some windy rocky points to start and caught a non keeper on a crankbait(one I just painted up too!!) but wasn't what I wanted to do so graphed some deeper stuff and crigged for a while but no luck. Went shallow and just started flipping and chatterbaiting buckbrush/wood/rock whatever stuck out into the water and had some shade. They were biting! Caught 14-15 bass total with 6 keepers and best 5 around 15lbs. Solid 3-3.25lb bass that loved to fight! Did miss a few as they would hit and run so fast I was barely getting the bail closed before the line was swimming off. Water temp from what i remember was 86° and the lake was mostly clear maybe a slight stain.
