missing waypoints - 08/20/19 11:19 PM

I have two helix units 9 and 10. for some reason a few of the waypoints have disappeared, maybe the ran away from home. If anyone sees them please them to come home. Oh yes be
sure to tell them they are not in trouble. thanks

Helix units have a max of 2,500 waypoints, and I think show most recent to oldest. Maybe thats the deal? Plagued me for two weeks until I figured out Solix is a 5,000 max and that is why the Helix on the bow was "losing" them

I manage my waypoints by lake. One file per lake. Humminbird also has a limit of 50 tracks. Doesn't matter how many points are in the track, 2 points or 1,000... limit is 50 tracks. That's what led me to creating one file per lake, because I use tracks for some non-standard things.

I feel like the unit performs better with having a smaller set of navigation data on it at a time, rather than having all the data for all the lakes I have info on.

Of course the pain is that I have to remember to load the waypoints for the lake I'm going to fish before I leave.

Humminbird waypoints only exist on the home unit. Home unit is the unit the waypoint was created on. The waypoint is visible from other units in the network but it does not "exist" on those units.

That said. With Humminbird you would need to export waypoints from ALL UNITS that had waypoints created on them to do a complete export and backup. If you did not do this and did a system reset or software upgrade, then waypoints would be lost.
