G-Loomis NRX 893C JWR

edit: the question said "best" - that is an expensive rod.
I mentioned this one because it is very versatile, super light, and if a crawfish passes gas near your jig, you will feel it.

You would need to get more specific for me to answer that one exactly. People throw everything from really light to heavy shaky heads. For a good all around rod I would go with a Dobyns Champion 734C. It would be able to handle everything but could be a little hard on a really light finesse one. In that case a 733 or maybe a 703 depending what rod length you prefer.

Light shakey heads or “summer” bigger shakey heads?

I would think the same rod used on other lakes would also work on Fork, but what do I know.

I agree. A 3 power for the light ones and a 4 power for the heavier ones.

^^^^^my advice, as well.

*the Xtasy 753 or 754 if you want top shelf. I use the Xtasy 755 for 1/2-3/4 oz jigs and I am amazed with this rod.

For throwing lighter shakey heads, Power Tackle PG 143-7 or Power Tackle LPC 470-7. For the bigger 1/2 oz Power Tackle 104.

Power Tackle LPC 675. It's a 7'4" Heavy (4 power) rod.

Like said above. I'd stay with a 7'3 to 7'6 rod in a 4 power.

This is a fantastic rod for a 3/4 shaky head and big worm.

+1
But also:
Kistler Z-bone 3-power 7'4" for up to 1/2oz shaky-heads.
or
Kistler Z-bone 5-power 7'4" for 3/4oz or 1oz big shaky-heads.

Same Z-bones I use for jigs, and my Heliums are some awful fine rods.
