Lake Fork Guide Report & Pictures - 05/23/19 04:16 PM

These notes are about a week old but I'm certain if you come out to Lake Fork this weekend they will help get you started. Y'all have fun and be safe..

MORNING BITE

I've been running main lake points with shell beds and where the shad spawn is going on to about 9:00 am. I am fishing these areas with a Owner Flashy Swimmer 3/8 oz and a Skinny Dipper / Little Dipper. (White Trash). Reaction Renovation is the brand of the trailer. I have also been throwing some top water in these areas with a Zara Spook (Chrome/Black Chrome/Blue). I am also throwing the Yellow Magic (Bone).

DEPTH

Shallow 1'-5' of water.

AFTERNOON /EVENING BITE

I start focusing deeper on main lake points, humps, roadbeds and some pond dams. I am also looking for long underwater points that run way out to the middle of the lake. I've been mainly throwing Crankbaits 6XD and 8XD (chartreuse / chrome blue back / Tennessee shad ). Another bait I like to throw is a 4" Storm Swimbait (Bunker) is the color I throw most. I always have a Carolina Rig with a 1 oz weight and 5’ leader with a #3 rigging hook. I set this up with a Zoom Fluke (Mardi Gras).

On the pond dams I am throwing a drop shot rig with a #1 rigging hook and a 5/16 oz weight. I am using a 14 inch leader with a Zoom finesse worm (Tomato). I am also throwing the Carolina rig here as well with a 1 oz weight and 5’ leader with a #3 rigging hook.

DEPTH

On the points, humps and roadbeds I am holding my boat in about 20' -25 and casting back to either 19'- 20' of water. On the pond dams I am setting the boat in about 16' of water casting back to about 6' to 12' of water

Quite a few years ago my buddy found a culprit Tomato worm broke off on a stump in Penson and "saved" it. .
Later that afternoon he rigged it up and first cast caught a 13.71
He's no longer my buddy.
Great Report BTW...
