BPT-Conroe

BPT-Conroe - 02/11/19 05:37 PM

I am still not familiar with how it works but I know in Florida they went to a new lake for the final day. I assume that will be the case here as well. Is that lake announced ahead of time if so where are they headed?

Re: BPT-Conroe - 02/11/19 05:42 PM

Nope final day will be Conroe, they will mix and match to see what works best this year, some events the elimination and knockout rounds may be on different venues or they make portions of a lake off limits for certain rounds.

They had the championship round on a different lake because that Sunday was the first day of practice for FLW stop at Toho

No. Stage 3 is Raleigh, NC and Stage 4 Lake Chickamauga in Dayton, TN

They haven't given us any trouble when we've fished the dam area

You've been fortunate that whole stretch there they will come down on you. Generally with a good stern warning.

I've fished that same area many times, back and forth. Never had a word from the Conroe Patrol, Precinct One Constables or Game Wardens.

He started the second period at the Walden boat ramp on Atkins. Sprague was down in Little Lake Creek, working back in the pond. I was thinking Ehrler was back in Atkins, around the Buffalo Springs subdivision area

Re: BPT-Conroe - 02/12/19 09:35 PM

I really wanted to sit down and watch a round before I made any judgement. After watching today I just did not get excited. The commentary was bland, the anglers didn't appear near as excited when they would catch a fish, and the atmosphere just wasn't what BASS or even FLW provides. I am not wishing any ill-will towards BPT at all, but I can see in a few years some of these anglers making a break back for BASS or FLW. It is not sustainable to rely solely on sponsor dollars and no entry fee anyways. That is my observation after having watched today. I may dabble in it from time to time because I still love to watch fishing, but I won't set aside time to watch live like I did with BASS and FLW.

Re: BPT-Conroe - 02/12/19 11:14 PM

Of course I think it helps if its on a lake that you have interest in, all information is good. I think its gonna be good for TV. Ill watch it when I can, and maybe my opinion will change. Just does not generate alot of interest from me.

I always like the factor that you have to do well to stay in, like BASS and FLW. I like the financial aspect of it, and the go for it all mentality, love watching someone whose barely getting by and wins a tournament. Everyone gets paid, no fees, kinda makes me feel like competition will slowly die off . Heck we all want that, but is it good for the sport? Guess we will find out.

There is a buoy or sign off the end of the Lake Patrol pier that says no fishing within 100 or 200 ft. It is only readable from about 50 feet. I have know some people to push it and get yelled at.

Sprague was in there yesterday and I wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t back in there tomorrow. I think he’ll have fish coming to him.

I’m also curious how Shaw does. He said he’s committed to staying in Walden all day. He’ll be protected by the wind and I think he’ll have a big one pull up tomorrow

Re: BPT-Conroe - 02/14/19 07:58 AM

Does anyone else that fishes Conroe regularly think the bigger females are still sitting a little deeper and because of the wind the last few days the pros just aren't fishing deep enough? It's been probably a month since I've been out there so I'm not sure but watching the last couple days has me thinking that. I'm sure a few females have moved up but I think most are still waiting for the temp to come up a little.

He was actually happy. He landed a nice keeper and broke the rod when he landed the fish.

If I were Strader, I’d start shaking fish off. Save em. He’s so far above the cut line, it doesn’t even matter any longer.

Same here, starting freezing up about an hour ago again and finally crapped out for good. Frustrating day as a viewing fan. They had some streaming issues today and hope they figure them out soon. I'm not gonna refresh time after time after time for future events just to watch. I want to support their efforts but today was rough to keep a signal going. Froze on commercials again and again no matter device, browser or MLF app.

Same here had both my office lap tops going one on bass live one BPT never lost the feed once...

And what a great ending to as Ike whine like a 8 year old kid who didn’t get what they want for Christmas, then to as low as to bash the BPT for their schedule as if that’s why he couldn’t make a cut. Dude is bottom of the barrel and a complete POS in my book

As I said multiple devices, multiple browsers and even their own app I experienced it freezing and locking up on commercials. I have yet to get the app to work past freezing on a commercial. I posted on the MLF FB site asking what I needed to do to correct it. I am not alone...it cut off on several people late today as well. I am very glad it worked for you all day. I had zero issues the first event. Today has been a beating trying to get it to work and again based on other comments from other sites I am not alone with the same issues at the same times.
cheers

True. Listening to Zaldain and watching how his graph was setup was cool. I never thought to highlight depth zones to help see the underwater contours as they relate to productive depths.

Several areas will get the hades beat out of them after everyone saw where they were catching them. Not too hard to figure out where they were in most cases. It will be take a number for these areas during the Oakley big bass in two weeks.

Very true fishspanker. I fished the area last year and nothing over 3 pounds. Also, fished where Jordan Lee fished. I obviously was throwing the wrong bait smile
With the BassPro Big Bass in two weeks a lot can happen. It could be in the post spawn or the second phase of spawners. Either way, The locals kick tail on that lake.

Little lake creek was not fishing as well last year. The home owners at the back of the canal were doing some changes to the creek and it had muddied up the whole area. If you notice they changed the way the canal flows there and drained the little lake area that was in the back near their house. This year all that is settled and its much cleaner in there. Where Edwin is fishing is very very difficult to get to. It's very near my house by I don't go in there because it's in most cases damaging to your boat. There is a shallow spot with debris in it on the way in. If the lake is below pool you can forget about getting in. If its rained in the last week you wont catch fish in there because its muddy. He hit it at the exact right time and doesnt care about damaging his boat because someone else pays to fix it.
