You're fine with backing down with headlights on as long as you're at Squaw Creek...

The best way to handle that is just back down at an angle covering all lanes and unstrap your boat at the bottom of the ramp. Also don't forget to leave the radio blaring to your favorite rap song and turn the flashers on.

Just be safe and turn all lights off , Starting Dec 01 2018 @ Squaw Creek : All lights must be turned off once going down the Hill before the ramps .

On all of my Ford trucks (05-14) there has been a dial to the left of the steering wheel that controls the headlights... Vertical position is off, then parking lights, on, and auto. Turn to the parking light position

Daytime running lights is what it sounds like your talking about?
Theres nothing to be done if its your daytime lights. they arent very bright and I wouldnt sweat it.

Not sure about Ford but on my Chevy just have to push in the E Brake a click or two to turn off day running lights

Some have a “DRL” fuse that can be pulled. The headlights continue to work as a normal setup would work, it just disabled the lower voltage daytime running light feature.

There’s a video on YouTube that shows how to disable daytime running lights in a 2008 F-150... pretty sure it’s the same for the expedition.

Check the driver menu settings options if available. It may be programmable.

2018 F150 and can not figure out how to turn off lights when in gear. The trick with park brake does not work, when brake is activated by switch similar to window switches. Tried at Squaw last week from gate all the way to ramp.

Beginning with the 2013 - 2015 model years, there is an H.U.D. that you need to use in order to deactivate the Daytime Running Lights.
It is under Vehicle Settings, IIRC. A quick search will get you the information.

Sounds like it would be easier to just leave them on. Just make sure to get a GPS tracker on Wawi's phone. Never know when he might show....

Install a hitch on frt of the Ford for launching , You don’t have to worry about Headlights at all , just leave them on .

I have a 2018 150 FX and I can drive with lights off, don't know why yours would be different. When I leave before dawn I leave my lights off driving down the alley so as not to shine my lights in someone's window and turn them on as soon as I turn onto the street.

I have owned many Ford's and none of them have ever had DRL's.
Maybe it is just on the higher trim levels?
Our 2017 F50 XLT Screw doesn't have them on it.

People claim on Yotas u cannot turn off the LED DRLs. Damn things are bright, never owned one so I don't know. Had a lot of chevy's and they can all be turned off. the E-brake works on the early 2k models.

Turning on the hazards will turn off led drls. So will a setting in the dash display on new Tundras. At least my 2016 Toyota has a light control in the “settings” menu on the little screen between the tach and speedo.

On my 08 GMC i have to rotate the dome light dimmer knob to dim my backup display. Real pain. Not sure if that will work on the newer trucks.

My 2014 f 150 shuts off all lights when I rotate the dial to the off position.
